Maish is a 5th year Design and Technocultural Studies major and has had work shown in the 2008 Design by Design show as well as is a recipient of the 2009 Excellence in Design award. He has also worked for the ExplorIt Science Museum, the UC Davis Department of Theatre and Dance, and IronKey Inc. Born in South Africa, he moved to Israel and later the San Francisco Bay Area. He is interested in microlending because it offers a long-term way to improve the quality of life in third-world countries instead of just sending temporary aid. His first experience with microlending was lending to a woman in Peru so she could expand her candy shop.
